ISABEL TAYLOR - DIRECTOR OF ACTIVITIES
My name is Isabel, and I am the Director of Activities for the 2022 LSA Committee. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws degree, commencing my second year this year. My role as Director of Activities is to organise social events for law students across all year levels. Some of the major events that will be run this year are the Law Picnic, Law Camp, Law Cruise, Law Ball and Winery Tour. Each of these events are a great way to escape the busy life of a law student and have some fun with your peers. Something I wish I knew in my first year was that even though you’re not in high school anymore and your learning is more independent, the academic staff are always still very open to having discussions if you don’t understand a particular topic or assessment. The academics are there to assist as much as possible, as they truly want to see you succeed. There are also lots of services such as the Learning Hub, Library Services or Peer Learning Advisors that can provide additional support. If not, you can always ask a fellow law student for assistance in the Law Common Room—which is one of my favourite spots on campus.
