VICTORIAN WOMEN LAWYERS & THE WOMEN BARRISTERS ASSOCIATION OF VICTORIA PROUDLY PRESENT THE 2008 LAW STUDENT MENTORING PROGRAM

The benefits of mentoring are widely acknowledged, particularly in the legal profession. Career progression, the culture of law firms and work-life balance are among the hot topics that female law students are concerned about and that practitioners deal with on a daily basis.

The Victorian Women Lawyers & Women Barristers Association Law Students Mentoring Program is a wonderful opportunity for female law students and practitioners to forge valuable networks and share ideas. I encourage students and practitioners alike to become involved in the Program and reap the mutual benefits that stem from encouraging the prevalence of women in the legal profession.”

Wherever possible, law students and mentors will be paired based on common professional interests. All pairs will be encouraged to meet on a monthly basis.

Participants will be invited to a launch function introduced by Her Honour Justice Neave AO on the evening of 24 July 2008, with a venue to be announced.

Register your interest by emailing Tracey Spiller at TSpiller@liv.asn.au
If you are a student, please include your university, year level and professional interests. Applications for mentors and students close on 1 July 2008.
